Lovely house, lovely island, lovely time!

Beautiful and well appointed home! We loved our home base here. Pool and spa were welcome relaxation and the general layout is great for families and couples! Weber grill works like a champ and we made good use of it. This is a great "home base" for exploring the Big Island. Thank you again for opening your home to us!!

Aloha! What a wonderful time we had.

We went parasailing, snorkeling, saw spinner dolphins, sunned, played and relaxed at your beautiful home. Loved hearing and seeing the night life -- including the boars (I think that's what they were) munching on dropped fruit. What a paradise. Thank you so much for opening your home to us. Hope to return again.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. The quality of the construction is just amazing. We loved the view and enjoyed the pool and spa. We took several day trips but made it back to Hale Kawika every night. It was so nice to have such a comfortable, spacious & beautiful home base. This was our first trip to Hawaii and our very first island. We still can't believe we were actually here. We are headed to Oahu tomorrow and will spend part of the next week working before heading home. It will be hard to leave the Big Island! We will recommend Hale Kawika to all our friends. Mahalo!

Aloha! Rosi, Omi, Claire and I arrived here one week ago today after spending 3 loud and crazy nights in Waikiki. We all oohed and awed as we wandered through the house in love with the luxury and space we would all now be afforded, a blessing after sharing a hotel room for 3 nights that cost more per night than this whole big house. We each had our own rooms! Yah! We came here together to help our friend Rosi memorialize the 1 year anniversary of her mother's death. This island was a special place to Rosi's mom and to Rosi. I was excited to realize my uncle Jim, who I looked forward to visiting on this trip lives right down the road on the other side of Holualoa on 3 beautiful acres. For the past week, we've enjoyed waking up to the sounds and smells of the island, drinking coffee on the lanai followed by a jump in the refreshing pool. Each day we set out on a variety of adventures including getting small plumerias tatooted at a great shop in Hawi Town. We spent our Thanksgiving with my uncle and auntie at their friends beautiful home in Kona. Ending the evening with a long soak in the hot tub gazing in reflection at the amazing constellations. Actually, we ended every evening this way. We are blessed! Mucho Mahalo! We love this house and hope to return again some day. Good bye Big Island- Oregon here we come brrrrrr... (Suzi)

Unbelievable sunset! The house is wonderful. We've had such a great time, we never want to go home. Love the seclusion of Kona. We flew to Oahu for a day and loved it but much prefer the "Big Island". Thanks so much David & Susan for the hospitality and an unforgettable vacation. Hawaii is everything and more we than we ever imagined. This is my new favorite place on earth. I'm begging my husband to sell all of our belongings and buy this place. It's "heaven". Herb and Jennifer were so sweet. We truly appreciate everything and will tell everyone about this place. Thanks again.

What a perfect place! Beautiful home, great location, easily accessible, neat little town! We couldn't have asked for more. We really lucked out since we planned this vacation a week before coming! Thanks for sharing your home with us. The only drawback we have found is that we need another week (or more) here! We definitely plan to come back and bring a few friends! We are virgins - never been to Hawaii, and loved the Big Island and your home. So relaxing! Came with son and daughter-in-law (above). So much to see and do, a beach for every day, active lava flows, ruins, etc, etc. Thanks for opening your home to visitors. It was wonderful and we will be back. The Bamboo Restaurant is well worth the drive to Kohala. Mahalo!

We had a wonderful vacation here. The area is so peaceful & beautiful. We made lots of dinners here and lots of good memories. Thank you! The house is lovely - really much more luxurious than we expected - and very peaceful. We drove all around the island and still made it home to cook most nights! Thank you! (Ann)

We love everything about this house! The pool & Jacuzzi are beautiful and it's great how quickly the hot tub heats up. With three kids we have flat worn out the pool and Jacuzzi. Another high point has been the pool table. We have played countless games. Rob and I love the fresh air and the view. The view from the deck is spectacular. We've also seen some pretty great sunsets, so pretty. As far as outings are concerned, we have been to white sands beach to boogie board. The boys were in heaven with the big waves. We also surfed one day although the surf was not that great. We spent one night at the Hilton Waikaloa and attended a luau. We had a great time, but we were ready to get back to the tranquility of the house. We went to Hapuna Beach - beautiful. We have loved our visit to Hawaii! Thank you for sharing your house with us. It's a little slice of heaven! It was amazing! Thank you so much! It was everything I hoped for & more. So pretty! (Carter) What a beautiful, awesome house! The two levels of decks with the ocean view and sunsets are incredible! I wish we could have stayed longer. We are all so thankful and grateful to have been able to spend time here. It's truly been a once in a lifetime experience for our family! Thank you David! (Robert)

Wow, what a place. We truly love this Big Island, and this house is "no stink" either. Many, many mahalo's for sharing your beautiful home with us. It was all we could have wanted and more. We've surely been spoiled. From the morning sunrise with the song bird choruses, to having coffee to the turkey gobbles and rooster crows, it just starts your day right. All the happy dogs, fun critters, and especially the geckos add to the charm of this beautiful countryside. The evenings were just enchanting. The warm breeze, soft rain and insane sunsets is simply unforgettable. This is the kind of stuff that just chokes you up. Truly paradise, this was the best. We'll never forget it. Herb and Jennifer were certainly the most kind and hospitable people. People with true Aloha. And the b-b-que was great too. Many thanks to all their help. So many mahalo's to you, David and Susan, we truly appreciated this wonderful place.

Our stay has been wonderful - weather beautiful, cool breezes, great food, helicopter tour of the island - lava fields, snow on Moana Loa, incredible valleys and waterfalls, even whales off Kohala Coast. Hale Kawika is wonderful - I gained about 5 pounds eating avo's but could not use up the supply - Never found the rum trees but they must be around here somewhere. Loved every minute. And now we have to go back to the land of WORK - darn shame. Mahalo, Mahalo, Mahalo!
